OXFORD, UK - OCTOBER 30TH 2006
Infinitesima Limited announced today that it has been selected by the Southeast England Enterprise Development Agency (SEEDA) for a Grant for Research and Development. The selection is a prestigious award, reserved for companies in the United Kingdom which are at the forefront of research and development.
The grant will allow the company to continue to advance the development of its patented Resonant Probe Microscopy (RPM) technology. The technology, which powers the company’s VideoAFM, is used by researchers to view samples at the nano-scale in real-time. With RPM users no longer need to wait several minutes for a single image. The RPM technique produces images in a fraction of a second increasing imaging throughput, data collection and providing instantaneous feedback of results.
Jeff Lyons, CEO of Infinitesima said, "The Grant is a welcome recognition of the value of the company’s RPM technology and will be used to continue development of the technology for new applications in multiple markets. The speed of the technique means that applications previously unavailable to scanning probe microscopy, particularly in the area of manufacturing inspection, are areas where the process can now add tremendous value."
Infinitesima is the developer and manufacturer of the Advanced Resonance Controller and the VideoAFM. The company is focused on developing new products based on its high-speed imaging techniques for the manufacturing, research and biotechnology markets.
The company is located in Innovation House in the historic city of Oxford, UK. In addition to being a world-recognised centre of technology innovation, Oxford is located near to the City of London, Heathrow Airport and the M4 Corridor, a favoured location of high-tech companies in the United Kingdom.
